I have tried to get rid of Ask by changing the Keyword URL to google. If I have done it once done it 100 times keeps changing back unilaterally. Why does it not stay changed I don't want Ask. never have wanted Ask where did it come from?
Ask keeps coming up instead of google and I have followed the directions to change the Keyword URL in about:config. It changes and then it changes back from google to Ask. I want it gone from my computer. How? Can I remove everthing that is in the preference list that relates to Ask.

There are a couple of places to check for the Ask:
- Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
- Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons
