When I visit a website using java-based media players embedded on the page, autoplay will work just fine, but play/pause, volume control, etc. will not click. I already had Firefox updated to 10.0.2 days before this problem cropped up. With the exact same plugins, the same websites are viewable and buttons are clickable in Chrome and IE.

To resolve the issue, I uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated Firefox, Java, Flash and Shockwave. I tried disabling addons, all with no change. All plugins are up to date, as are all active addons.

Do you really mean Java or do you mean JavaScript?

To avoid confusion:

If JavaScript isn't working then make sure that a Firefox extension or your security software isn't blocking JavaScript.

Yes, I do mean Java...at least I think I do. Jwplayer, and other embedded video players like it are the ones I'm having a problem with. Perfect example, gamespot.com. Since 3 days ago, out of a clear blue sky, I can't skip ahead, play/pause, or adjust volume for any of their videos at all.
