HI

I recently updated my FF to 21.0

Now....each time I close my FF, then open it, it will not open the tabs from my previous session....kinda annoying because I have many tabs open. Yes I went to tools , general, and selected the "show my windows and tabs from last time"...

Is this caused by 21.0 FF?

Please help..thank you..

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear the Browsing History

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies that have an allow exception and cookies from plugins.

Thanks both of you.

@cor-el, No, I never clear browsing history, and I have that option unticked also. This is very weird, never had this happen to me before. Now with 21.0 version, it is becoming annoying. Each time i close FF, open it, it only shows my homepage...not my previous tabs..

@feer56, If I factory reset it, you said I will lose all my extensions/addons etc. I am worried because I have some security addons, how will I install them back?

Also feer56, you said reset factory FF can fix many issues. That is good, but will I lose anything other than the extensions/add ons?

In addition, is there any other solution? Or perhaps people experiencing the same thing?

Thanks guys.

EDIT: Maybe I should say this. Maybe the update did not run smoothly. Previously each time I updated my FF, then when I opened FF it would show the "whats new", a.k.a showing the new features of the latest version, in this case, 21. But this time, there is now "whats new". absolutely none. Perhaps this has something to do with the update not going smoothly therefore causing all these problems?

Is there anything under History > Restore Previous Session or History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows ?

Is Session Restore enabled?
