I have tried resetting my mozilla support password a few dozen times now (ok... over one dozen, at the very least). To date I have had no success. Unlike some prior issues, I receive the email, I am (supposedly) able to change the password, i receive the response that I can login now, but the login never works. Had I tried once or twice or three times, I might believe I made errors in typing passwords, but after more than a dozen attempts that no longer seems plausible.

In order to post this issue I have had to create a new account which required creating a new email account... not ideal for me, but I understand the rationale. However, I am still stuck with the inability to use my existing profile to ask for clarification regarding prior questions. I had hoped this was a time lag issue, but I have waited 24 hours for some of the resets to take effect, with no luck.

Is there any way to get my prior account password reset (really reset... like, so I can login...)?

I had occasion to reset a support account password recently and it took me a few attempts, maybe three. Not sure what went wrong and I did not try to reproduce or repeat the issue.

Anyhow back to your problem:

  • What is the account name that you used to have ?

It will be trivial to find the old posts and an admin will be able to contact you to reactivate the old account. Meanwhile keep both email accounts open and monitored.

oops... should have included that in the first place

The prior account is joe_blaugh

Hi again Joe,

I have posted a question elsewhere asking an Admin to sort out your account. Please try to follow that thread, /forums/contributors/709596 and the current one. It may well be a few days before an Admin is able to contact you as they have been in a work week in Paris, and are likely to have a backlog of work.

Thanks for the assist. I try to dogpile on similar issues, but perhaps should post a separate question now and again, eh?

BTW, the link re: cookie exceptions gives a 404 (or a page not found, anyway).

Sorry my typo clear cookies on exit Except for listed Exceptions

(added space, fixed link - c)

Thanks, Yes spotted that thought, I had added that on reposting ~J99

The link doesn't work because of a missing space before clear (clear cookies on exit Except for listed Exceptions)

Hi again Joe,
Yes that's right

Thanks for the assist. I try to dogpile on similar issues, but perhaps should post a separate question now and again, eh?

Better usually to read the other questions for tips and links but if you need to post start a new thread for your own question. You may have similar symptoms but a different cause. Posting a separate question makes it simpler for everyone to follow and answer and has an advantage that you are able to include full troubleshooting information by following the prompts in the question workflow.

You could even post in a related question just to mention your own problem briefly, then, start a new thread. That is the best of both worlds as the info is cross linked but separate and with full information.

The exception is questions where we do not know the cause and can not recreate the problem and others posting with similar problems may help.

That sort of situation occurs when something breaks in Firefox or in a third party common software such as FlashPlayer. What we need then though is not users just saying me too but users helping us to identify the problems and probably running in clean profiles with minimal addons.
