I HATE the recently added hyperlinks inserted into text that want to sell me something or help me find a job! How do I eliminate this function?
On every page, web content is hyper linked. When you hover over the link, an advertisement appears. Many times the ad is for finding a job. Other times it is advertising a product for me to purchase. It is annoying and distracting.
I am an adult educator teaching software for on-line programs. I host webinars and record many of them for future user reference. I cannot have this new, unexpected functionality "popping up" in my training.
The new hyper links along with the newly added "sale an item" tab opening when I click a link or click on the page are enough to have me stop showing my learners my training using Firefox. (I have used Firefox's Community Support and I believe resolved the "new tab" issue using "browser.link.open_newwindow" config and changed my setting from 3 to 1.)
How to I stop Firefox from adding hyper links on random web content not originally designed to have hyper links?

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
