Actually, that tiny icon is different than the Firefox button, which is an orange button which displays the word Firefox.

You can choose between the orange Firefox button and the classic menu bar. If you prefer to have the bar displayed all the time, find Options on the Tools menu.

To hide the menu bar and use the orange Firefox button, see this article: Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar.
