I cant get PNG to save on my email signature. I get the message there was an error saving "*****"png
I have an emil signature that displays if I ad in as either a file or the code but when i go to write an email I get the signature minus the PNG logos. I then manual point the logo to the directory and this works when i send the email but I cant save where the files are stored on my MAC.
Please help

Try creating the signature with the message composer:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/signatures#w_including-image-files-in-signatures
Already tried this and the links will not display when I start a new email I have to manually point to the directory as I said originally. There must be something stopping the email program saving the directory location so I dont have to manually point each time
I have read and I do not understand.... how do you manually point to the directory ?
Ok within the HTMl code is a designated folder where the logios are stored so that when you open the signature the logos appear in the signature. Each time I go to write a new email i click write and the a new screen with the signature appears minus the logos. You then click where the logo should be and this gives you the directory. The directory it shows is incorrect so you select the image location and then it appears in the signature. If you save this then either as a file or template next time you go to compose a new email the logos do not appear so you have to do the same process all over again.
The mail program is not saving the locations of the images and I need to know how to do this
?Are you setting this up to include the image in the mail? If the images are local, they will need to be embeded in the mail or the recipient will not see them.
What location does Thunderbird have in the file for them?
The location is a local file on our server. As im not good with code writing is this something you would say needs to be done regarding the code. as when I look at the code the src is a file which is local to my network.
src="users/Ethix1/pictures/linkedin.png"
Think you may have found my problem. Thanks for the help so far any further help would be great.
I think you have to expand the path for the images, e.g.:
img src="file:///c:/images/picture.jpg"
See this post for an example of signatures with images.
I don't pretend to understand how it's done, but if you embed an image into an email message (rather than linking to the image file), the picture is mime encoded and incorporated into the body of the email message. So the image is included into the message and is independent of the original,
If you construct the message by hand, this embedding doesn't necessarily take place, so you send a link, and it only works if that image file is hosted on a server accessible to your correspondents.
Hence I would commend the previous advice to use Thunderbird itself to compose the message, and usage of the Insert|Image tool, and take care to tick the checkbox that includes the file with the message.
I see this has all been recommended to you previously and I don't understand why it didn't work for you then.
