I have unfortunately acquired Luckysearches.com as a search engine with some downloaded software. When I try to get rid of it (Tools/ Options/ Search, then change Default from luckysearches to Google, and highlight/ remove Luckysearches from the list), it all seems to work. Next time I open Firefox, everything as back the way it was: Luckysearches is on the list and is back as the default search engine. I had already uninstalled Luckysearches from my Control Panel (Windows Vista Home Premium). I also got othr programs (iWebar, Shopper-Pro and YTDownloader) at the same time which I can't seem to uninstall, could this be related? I have McAfee Security Centre installed.

Try removing the following add-ons (go to about:addons, look through the tabs until you find the addon, and click remove):

- MindSpark Toolbar Platform Plugin Stub for 32-bit Windows
- 5.1.31211.0 (I have no idea what this is but you probably don't need it)
-  globalUpdate Update

Once the system is back to normal;

Bookmark and use this; Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
