Is it possible to get Firefox to ask before I allow a site to install cookies, or not? If so, how is that done? The help files are completely unhelpful, as usual.

Yes, but I don't recommend that setting. You'll be constantly bombarded with cookie prompts.

  1. Click the ≡ Menu Button and choose Options.
  2. Click the Privacy icon.
  3. Set "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history".
  4. Set "Keep unti: Ask me every time".

  1. Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track
  2. Press Ctrl+F to bring up the find bar. Type ask as the keyword. The first match is the setting you're interested in.
