Firefox 30 Windows7 Flash14 Clean Windows build no other browsers or software Youtube videos play without flash plugin at 320 as highest quality setting. Once flash installed quality automatically changes to highest available for video and displays error and snowy background, adverts seem to play without error before main clip.

Tried hardware accelleration and vid drivers all OK Tested on two different PCs virtual and real and same error once flash in added.

Did you try other resolutions in the Flash player?

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

The player halts before any changes can be made to resolution. Altering after the error has displayed makes no difference as it resets itself.

Tried the cache clearing with no effect.

The remove cookies instructions do not not appear to make sense with this version.

Disabling flash is the only current way to see the videos on Youtube, still puzzled with this.
