Unable to reset Firefox: always get the same "embarrassing error" message
Hi. My Firefox keeps on crashing: I continually get the "Firefox not responding message. "
I have tried on umpteen occasions to try and reset Firefox, but cannot. Halfway through the process, everything stops and I get the "well this embarrassing" error message. How can I fix this?

Uninstall Firefox from your computer {web link}
Then
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Many thanks for this info, but won't uninstalling Firefox mean that I lose all my bookmarks, saved passwords etc etc?
The main Firefox program is in a \programs\ folder. User profiles are kept in a folder in the \user\ directory.
When Firefox opens, it will look for any user profiles in the current user folder.
