I believe it started when firefox 32 updated. But suddenly every time I try and play a video in Netflix the screen is just black. If I log out of netflix and log back in, it will play once, but if I try and play a second movie, choose something different or close the browser I get a black screen.

I have tried the following to resolve:

-Safe mode. The movies WILL play in safe mode, but trying to disable all extensions and add-ons still doesn't work. -reinstall silverlight -reset firefox -change cookie settings. delete all cookies and cache - turn off hardware acceleration

I just CAN NOT find this problem!

It's not working in safe mode anymore either! Maybe it was only the first time because it reset everything...

Try running firefox in 32 bit mode and netflix may work for you.

Quit Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu and select Quit-->Open your Applications folder-->Find Firefox in the Applications folder and click it once to select it.-->Then press command + i on your keyboard. An information window will open up.-->In the Firefox information window, check the box next to Open in 32-bit mode-->Close the info window and restart Firefox
