Videos won't play in Facebook anymore

Anyone know how to get videos to play in Facebook. I never had problems until mid-August-2014. I'm not talking about the auto-play, I'm referring to clicking on a posted link and all I get is a black box now, unless it's YouTube.

I'm using Windows-7, FF is up-to-date.

this is due to due to the fact that facebook has completely passed on standard HTML5 and some phones and tablets do not support this beautiful standard. I'll tell you a secretI have Motorola DEFY +, and because of 526 MB of RAM, he also does not support this beautiful standard

I'm not talking about mobile /phone apps. It's on a computer using Windows-7.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
