When will the donate request disappear - it bugs me

I thought the donation request period was to end 31/12. It is still there and is increasingly bugging me especially as the note has got bigger and more putrid in colour. Might be tempted to look for another provider.

Gone for me as of Friday 01-02-2015 - around 1000 GMT I didn't see it any longer.

You can try these steps:

  • Open the about:home page in a tab
  • Open Web Console in this tab (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer)
    https://developer.mozilla.org/Tools/Web_Console
  • Run this command via the command prompt of the Web Console:
    gSnippetsMap.clear()
  • Close the tab with the about:home page
  • Close and restart Firefox
