"Special Account" appears and cannot be deleted. How to delete?

An account has appeared that I cannot delete. When I try to do so, I get the dialog box stating: "the following is a special account" and cannot be deleted.

How can I though config or otherwise delete this account?

Repeatedly people come here with the same questions. How to delete it? They rarely ever ask what is a special account, or what is it for. Just how to do what they have already been informed can not be done.

So to answer the question you asked, you can not delete it.

To answer the question you did not ask, it is local storage on your PC, separate from the mail server and very useful for storing archived IMAP mail. In the case of POP mail accounts it can be used to aggregate mail from many mail account into the global inbox.
