keeps asking for news and email account information, cant save to drafts, all acounts have no news and email works fine!
hangs while running.
XP with last update.
All email accounts work OK. I have no news groups set up.
I get a message - sending email failed. I didn't try and send an email! I get a message - check all news and email account settings!
Is Thunderbird still viable on XP?
Have checked for malware +s of course.

Update 18/02/15 "Alan Builder" I have run Thunderfix!
Ok I have 12 email profiles, most with google, one with my ISP one with an independent and one hosted on my server. All receive but not one will send!
I am not blocked by my ISP as my Android pad can send on the account.
I now need to stop the program Thunderbird as there are 2700 emails to download and they take 2 minutes each. The system is busy as a lot of the google accounts try and forward emails, as the system is not sending I am locked out so I can't even select it to work off line.
Thus I deduce I need to change a line in the program code and then restart. But which line and what code?
Please help, desperate, no hair left!
