Currently using the nightly 39.0a2 (2015-04-07) and my active tab styles are gone. I have no idea which tab is the currently opened one. I have tried with two different themes and same issue on both. Now tab mix plus offers active tab style but they do not follow the rounded corner appeal that was in FF previously so I have those disabled. Any way to get the active tab styles back?

Hello,

Two things i can think of.

1) Try using the default theme in FireFox here are the steps to change the theme Hello,

A theme is an add-on that changes the visual appearance of Firefox. When several themes are installed, you can switch to another theme as follows:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons.
  2. Switch to the Appearance tab. You should find your previously used personas in the list.
  3. Find the Default one and make sure its active if not set it

2) Have you tried updating the nightly? The Nightly page shows 40.0a1 as the most recent release. Maybe try updating,

I tried the default theme and the styles work there but I am noticing that the default theme no longer does the rounded corners on the tabs.

Also to note the nightly page has the latest version but it must not be in the repo yet because the browser says it's up-to-date and the download page still doesn't have it.

The default theme makes me think that this is actually something that mozilla is moving away from in terms of rounded corners maybe the themes I am using need updates to fix that. Or maybe I inadvertently turned it off some how? Not sure.

Are you currently using code in userChrome.css?

You can check out currently used rules in this CSS file:

  • chrome://browser/skin/browser.css

You can search for .tab-background-start/end

What OS are you on?

The OP is on Windows 7 as you can see in the System Details.

Note that a2 is not the Nightly, but the developer Edition (Help > About: Aurora channel).

Currently on Windows 7 Pro, SP. Build 7601.

I also checked my browser/skin/browser.css and not quite sure what I am looking for here, I am not much of a themer. I guess I should say that the themes that are failing to give "active tab styles" are 'Firefox Carbon' and 'Dark fox'

Updated to 39.0a2 (2015-04-14), problem is getting worse. Not only does the active tab styles still not work now pinned tabs are just appearing as regular tabs. Currently using the default theme as a fall back.
