As recently as late 2014, Adobe Flashplayer updater pushed McAfee Security as a tag-along installation BUT gave you the option to uncheck a check-box (opt-out) on the first screen of the install status report. That was bad enough; but now the check-box is an offer (opt-in) to install Quicksilver; there is no possible way to avoid installing McAfee's product. Sure enough, McAfee Security was installed on my computer along with Flashplayer version 17 (April, 2015). I immediately uninstalled McAfee using the uninstall app provided. In future I do not want to install anything but the Firefox add-on selected, especially an unwanted "security" product. I realize Mozilla is not in charge of how an add-on developer packages its installs, but this pushing of an unrelated product WITHOUT ANY OPTION TO OPT OUT is offensive and ought to be banned by Mozilla -- especially given how widely used Flashplayer is! My question: going forward, how do I get rid of this McAfee Security install beforehand, rather than after-the-fact?

Correction: the new checkbox refers to another Adobe product: "Lightroom 5" -- not Quicksilver. Sorry about that.

Get the plugin based Flash player from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html as you will only get Flash.
