open help / troubleshooting information there is a button "show folder" This will open your profile in a explorer window. You emails are in mboxes under mail /account-name/ (for pop and local folders)) and imapmail/account-name for imap-accounts Your emails are NOT stored separately they are in containers (mboxes) in the way they were delivered. Attachments are still part of the email and are not unpacked. The mbox is the one without an extension. (for example INBOX) some parts is readable
I doubt brother MFC-scan can work on those. Sometimes if there is a virus in one mail the whole INBOX would be deleted, that is all emails would be gone from that box.
It has been discused how a antispam-ware could work. It can on pop-account without security, (not crypted). Otherwise it has to decrypt, valuate, and recrypt. Like a man in the middle.
Yeah, I found that folder, but the MFC didn't like that answer. I found that I can scan to file then copy to email, extra step but it works. A side note; without an address (file location) the MFC gives an error msg that instructs a restart. Doing so resulted in a crash for me 3 times and recovery took several restarts. A lesson on what not to do... Thanks anyway tho'
Your scanner is supost to open thunderbird and a write-email window with the scan as attachment. What happens if you direct it to the program itself C:\"Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird"\thunderbird.exe maybe with command line option -compose or maybe even -compose attachment=%1

Most of these scanners are looking for the port of your email providers SMTP server. You can get this info from the server settings in Thunderbird but Thunderbird really has no part in this operation. You should contact the scanner manufacturer for assistance in setting up their product.

I might give this a try, tho I'm not opposed to the scan-to-file method as I rarely need to do this (I used to fax but no longer have a land-line). I did contact Brother with this, they set me on this quest because they could not help me find the installed location of Thunderbird. Thanks guys; I'll let ya know what happens when I experiment with it again.

Yeah, go ahead. I've not tried the solution from Gnospen yet, don't know when I will. But when it happens I'll give the results. Thanks...
