I'm trying to acess a web-site that I trust. I get the message: Secure Connection Failed The connection to www.sapidyne.com was interrupted while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I suspect it might have something to do with the "SSL". I tried to find "security.use....." and change the settings under about:config as you recommended in one Q&A but I can't find it. Do you have any recommendation? The website owners says that they haven't heard about the problem from anyone else.

Thanks in advance!

It looks like the cert is legit (first screen shot).

I think yours is the second thread I've seen involving "COMODO RSA Certification Authority" as the issuer not being recognized/trusted.

This isn't a new certificate, so that's a bit of a mystery. Could you check in Firefox's Certificate Manager here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Certificates mini-tab > "View Certificates" button > Authorities tab

Scroll down to the Comodo CA Limited section and check for COMODO RSA Certification Authority" as a Builtin Object Token (second screen shot). Is it missing?

Try to rename the cert8.db file (cert8.db.old) and delete the cert_override.txt file in the Firefox profile folder to remove intermediate certificates and exceptions that Firefox has stored.

If that has helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file. Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previously stored intermediate certificates. Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.

If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
