I have several "accounts" with my thunderbird email. I need to eliminate one of the email address's but have been unable to do so.
The account I wish to remove has 400 emails in it that I can not see because password no longer works.

and why does the password not work? are you trying to remove the account in some futile attempt to recreate it and fix an issue. This rarely works, just looses mail permanently.
Right click the account, select settings. Select the account actions button at the bottom of the list and select delete.
