Firefox hangs in Windows 10
I have 3 PC's that have all been upgraded to W10, and all 3 have FF as their default browser (2 PC's home built the other is a Samsung Series 7). On all 3 of these PC's FF hangs for no reason, and even more baffling they all seem to hang at around the same time. Most often I will minimize FF and walk away from the PC only to come back later and not be able to access FF. When that happens the FF window is almost slightly blurry and the only buttons available in the window are minimize and close.
Yesterday I updated 2 of the PC's to FF 40.0.3 but FF still hung in less than 24 hours. The other PC is running FF 28. The only thing these 3 PC's have in common is that they've all been upgraded to W10 and they share some of the same add-ons. Any suggestions on troubleshooting this? I did try disabling Flash but that did not resolve the issue.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Note: Edge on Win10 does not use ActiveX version but its own Flash.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac
Then reinstall the latest version.

What was Firefox doing, and what web page was on the browser?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Flash was updated to 18 in an attempt to resolve this issue, so having both I don't think is the issue. Since I have UnloadTab installed, I usually select a tab that doesn't unload, in this case my Plex tab, then I minimize FF when I walk away. However that is only the case on my main PC. FF hangs on other PC's that don't have Plex, that don't have UnloadTab, etc. None of the PC's are doing anything special at the time that FF hangs, and I have not tried Safe Mode yet.
Now that I think about it, I did a reinstall of FF28 on my torrent box the other day trying to fix this issue. When it still ended up hanging, I upgraded to 40. The torrent box didn't hang today (at least not yet) like my main PC did. So maybe it's an issue with the upgrade to W10 that's causing the hang and a reinstall of FF fixes it. I will give it another day or 2, and if my torrent box hasn't hung I'll reinstall FF on my other PC's and see what happens.

I did as you suggested and will see what happens. However I'm confident that it's not going to resolve the issue. When I check my torrent box, I see I have only Flash 18.0 r0 installed and that machine hangs at an identical interval to this one (but hasn't since the reinstall of FF).

Just as I expected, FF hung on this PC tonight, so this doesn't appear to be a Flash issue (and it happened after upgrading to V19). I haven't had an issue on my torrent box yet, which is the one that I reinstalled FF on. So I'm guessing there's an issue with doing the W10 upgrade that is having an impact on FF. Remember, that is the one thing all my machines have in common. I will give the torrent box a few more days and if it doesn't hang by the weekend I will reinstall FF on my other machines and see what happens.

Woke up this morning and the torrent box had hung sometime overnight so now I have no clue what's causing it. Any other suggestions?

I couldn't handle running my main PC in safe mode for any amount of time, so the torrent box was switched instead and will update this post if/when it crashes.
Well as of today, neither machine had hung. I upgraded my main PC to Flash 19 and left the torrent box as is running 18, but then ended up having to restart it due to other issues. Since then I decided to give Waterfox a try and have installed it on both machines and will see if the issue persists. Thanks for the help FredMcD
