After update to OSX el Capitan does Firefox 40.0.3 still function OK, but when I try to get the latest version I get the answer: Unable to connect to Mozilla. - Why? (Inactivation of F-Security Anti-Virus does not help.)

Many thanks for your interest! I had to trash Firefox first of all and go to Safari for the new version 41.0.1 of Firefox. - Now it is going fine again. - (I think the problem was that the Program update had loaded Firefox only as an alias.)

Cheers

Hello, please try the next steps, download and install firefox:

1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html (full dmg package)

2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean install.

3. Install the version that you have downloaded.

Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.
