Why does Mozilla falsely tell me Adobe Reader Plugin is out-of-date?

I am using Windows 7 Professional Edition and have the most recent version of Firefox, 42.0. Why does Firefox consistently and repeatedly say that my Adobe Reader Plugin is outdated with version 15.9.20069.28170 when I am able to verify that I not only have the most updated version, but I have the most updated release with patches, version 15.9.20077.29851, released on 10/29/15? On the Firefox “Check Your Plugins” webpage (titled “Keep your Firefox healthy with a quick checkup – Mozilla”), when I have tried clicking on “Update Now” to try to update the Adobe Reader Plugin (which of course does not need updating), I am taken to get.adobe.com, where I have downloaded, and then tried installing the current version. However, when I have clicked to install I get the message that I already have the current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (of course). As I have also indicated, I have also been able to re-confirm that I have not only the current version but the current release by opening up Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, then clicking on Help>About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC where it of course shows that I have version 15.9.20077.29851, the most current release with patches. It slightly adds to all the confusion when I see that the get.adobe.com webpage lists the current version for me to download for my system (Windows 7) as 2015.009.20069, the same version that Mozilla shows as being an “outdated” Plugin, when I actually have version 15.9.20077.29851, as I indicated. Apparently (as I understand it), version 2015.009.20069 is obviously the most current version as the get.adobe.com webpage shows, and once one were to download this version (assuming one did not already have it), one would then get the most updated release with patches, version 15.9.20069.28170. From looking at other forum posts regarding this issue, I see that this problem has been going on repeatedly for others as well for at least several months now. Why has this problem not been able to be corrected? I know that as long as I can confirm and know that I have the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, then I’m OK. However, it still bothers me as to why the false report from Mozilla stating that my Adobe Reader Plugin is out of date is not able to be corrected. Any insight or knowledge from anyone as to why this problem still has gone uncorrected will be appreciated. Also, is there any realistic possibility that this problem will finally be eventually corrected and corrected permanently (hopefully)?

This is a known issue with the update checker. If the programs web site says you are up to date, then you are fine. Don’t worry.
