I can not open my emails, that have been been down loaded.

Do you mean that you can see the emails listed, but when you click on them nothing happens? If so, please close and restart Thunderbird in safe mode, see if that helps. If you are still having problems read this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disappearing_mail
