One of the advantages of Firefox is that it has its own cursor settings, instead of defaulting to system settings. I have a *nasty* flash/strobe sensitivity, and can have blind spots around flashing/blinking objects, get disoriented, stumble, and get migraines from flashing/blinking objects. OS X has no system setting to disable flashing/blinking cursors, and only a hack which works in some apps and not in others. Does Thunderbird also have its own cursor settings?

What are firefox's? The same usually applies to Thunderbird. It is just often a matter of how they are accessed.

Firefox allows users to create a setting ui.caretBlinkTime 0 to stop the flashing. According to this, Thunderbird also allows this:

I haven't been able to test this because Thunderbird hit me with painful panes.

I ee no reason that this would not work. The setting appears to be affecting core code execution. Give it a try. Use the config editor
