How do I enable the Crash Reporter in Fedora?
I am having a problem loading a Facebook game. It starts loading and at about 12% loaded Firefox crashes. There is no Crash Reporter dialog so I can submit a report.
I started Firefox from a command window and got the following output when I tried to load the game.
firefox -P Carol -no-remote ATTENTION: default value of option force_s3tc_enable overridden by environment. Vector smash protection is enabled. The checkbox for crash reporter is on the Preferences page, Advanced panel, Data Choices section.
(I don't know how to interpret that console output.)
The Data Choices panel is Empty - there is nothing to check. I can provide a screenshot if necessary.
Is there a way to set this in about:config?
Sometimes panels are blank due to an incompatible full theme or corrupted program files. I'm hesitant to speculate on Linux as I'm only personally familiar with Windows.
I couldn't find an about:config setting for this.
Third-party builds may not have the crash reporter that the official builds from Mozilla has.
Btw Adobe now supports Linux with their Flash Player along with Windows and Mac OSX as of 24.0.0.186 that came out on Dec 13.
Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
