Firefox, does;not quit and hang the MAC.

After a prolonged period of use when I try to quit firefox on my mac , it does not quit. Even Force-quitting doesn't work. And then it hang the MAC and it doesn't shutdown or restart. This happens everyday, not just once or twice. Something wrong with the code....please fix it, because I prefer firefox over safari and Chrome.

Thanks for early response, but I don't have Java plugin in my plugin list. Java is updated too. Is it really because of plugins ?
