Firefox crashes
Firefox will stop responding, suddenly all of my OS (Windows 10 Pro) will simply stop, freeze, a warning will come up that the program is not responding and if I wait longer it may respond again, the CPU light that it is doing its thing on my laptop goes dead, the only way I can get to use my laptop again is by hard resetting it holding the power button. This happen multiple times a day, and only while browsing using firefox.
It is my preferred browser, but I have noticed its quality to degrade as time goes by.

What's your Firefox version?
This is only with Firefox open? About how long before the problem begins?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Firefox version: 55.0 (32 bit) My OS is Win10 Pro 64 bit
This only happens when Firefox is open but it's at random, sometimes i'll make it through a good part of the day with it open, sometimes it will happen twice withing the hour. I don't know, it just locks up on its own and stops responding for some reason.
The only extension I've got running is Adblock Plus, which I've used for several years
There are other v55 users reporting problems also. I called for more help.
Hi there,
Thank you for calling for more help. Currently we are investigating what may be causing the loss of bookmarks, please make a back up of yours. Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
Can you disable the addon for a few hours to see if you notice a difference? Can you also share if you are on an admin account on Windows or on a guest account?
Thank you!
Literally just opened the browser to report here and it happened again as I was typing. The addon was already disabled and I am in a Win 10 admin account (only account on my laptop).
I've been googling this and trying other solutions to rule out Firefox but in 95% of the cases it will happen with the browser, the rest will happen while reading PDF documents.
Important:
After reinstalling my video driver (Intel HD Graphics) I have no longer experienced the problem and the laptop has been running smoothly.
That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.
Wish I could, though it just happened again. Seems like different people are finding random solutions for the same problem, I have tried many but none have worked so far.
Looks like we'll just have to wait for Microsoft to push a newer version to fix this.
