Frequently when I start Firefox on my desktop machine theentire desktop refreshes. Not every time, but very frequently. at other times, when I am using Firefox, the desktop or web page refreshes for no reason At least, it looks like a refresh when I open firfox, because every single icon on the screen flashes off, then on, in micro speed succession. The desktop background is black, so no changes there. However, when it happens as I am using th program, the entire screen flashes momentarily, a flash so fast as a snapshot with a flash camera. Just a flash, that's all.

I have not done any intentional refreshing or either firefox or the desktop.

Hmm, that should not happen.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
