I was attempting to load the site "https://masterbuilt.com/" in FFQ 61.0.1 64 but the page stays blank. I do have adblock and it's disabled for the site. the address bar shows a green secure icon for the page. it will load in IE tho. I'm stumped.

It does work perfectly both in Firefox 61 and Developer Edition. Take a look at your web console to see what might be the issue.

what should I look for in the web console?

Hi Mataichi, do you get the dark top bar and then the area below is it blank? How much is blank for you?

If a site is generally known to work in Firefox, these are general suggestions to try when it stops working normally:

Double-check content blockers: Firefox's Tracking Protection feature and extensions that counter ads and tracking may break websites that weren't built to operate normally without the blocked components.

Do you see a shield icon toward the left end of the address bar, near the lock icon? More info on managing the Tracking Protection feature in this article: What happened to Tracking Protection?.

Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix should provide toolbar buttons to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you may need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.

This site uses CloudFlare for some of its content, in case you have a filter for that.

Cache and Cookies: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "Clear Cookies and Site Data"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "Clear Cookies and Site Data"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Testing in Firefox's Safe Mode: In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

cache, cookies and site data cleared, page will not load

the page will load in safe mode

Hi Mataichi, thank you for checking that. What Firefox's Safe Mode does is:

  • Disable ALL extensions, so you could consider whether any others might be coming into play
  • Disable hardware acceleration of graphics (not usually a cause of blank pages, but to disable it in regular mode, see: Firefox's performance settings)
  • Disable the optional userChrome.css and userContent.css customization files (if you created such files)
  • Disable the JavaScript compilers (problems with compilers are usually more extreme, such as crashes)

There is the same problem with this website: https://thehackernews.com/

Error: Permission denied to access property "__rocketLoaderInlineHandlerProxy"[Learn More] rocket-loader.min.js:1:8863

Cloudflare rocket-loader is not loading.

The same website works with Chrome/Safari/Old Firefox.

Hi xenio2000, rather than have support volunteer repeat their earlier suggestions, could you work through the steps in this thread and see whether you can discover a reason that the site does not work on your Firefox?

Oh sorry, I feel so stupid, I tested everything but not with safe mode. Looks like this extension is causing the problem.

Hi xenio2000, thank you for reporting back. Seems like an odd extension to cause this problem. You could send the extension author a message at the "Support Email" listed down the left side of the extension's page on the add-ons site.

I was attempting to load the site "https://masterbuilt.com/" in FFQ 61.0.1 64 but the page stays blank. I do have AdBlock (Plus?) and it's disabled for the site...
  • If you have user-filters added, I noticed when I had AdBlock Plus that it wasn't enough to 'Disable' ABP for a site if there was an Added, problem User-Filter. The user-filtering had to be emptied/deleted from the box (and later put back once the problem filter string was found).
  • I now have uBlock Origin and I copied the user-filters I had in ABP and inserted the filtering into uBlock Origin.
  • ABP was eating-up Memory, so I now use uBlock Origin.
