outgoing email from Thunderbird shows phishing message. does not happen from gmail, only TB

It seems that I need to authorize TB to access gmail, but i can't find how to do that. sending and receiving of messages is fine, but outgoing from TB always includes a phishing warning. if i go around TB and send through gmail, there is no phishing warning attached.
