firefox on note 8 hangs clearing private data

I have firefox set to clear private data on exit. If I have only opened a few pages it sends to not hang. Bit when I view a lot of pages the app just hangs and at the bottom it says clearing private data. I have let it do this for over 5min at times and it never exists

Hi

If there is a lot of data to clear, it can take some time, but hopefully we can speed things up a little.

From the Android homescreen, open the Android Settings application (typically a cog-wheel) and select Firefox from the Applications menu. Choose Clear Cache, close and restart Firefox for Android.
