I need to change my pin and can't find where to do that

I need to change my password on a saved log in, which requires my pin, which I don't have. When I click on Forgot My Pin it tells me to go to Settings, Accounts, Sign in Options, which I can't find. How do I get there?

Hi Connie, if you read the article that cor-el linked to, it has more information about the PIN request.

A Windows login usually is an email account @outlook.com or @live.com or @hotmail.com which Microsoft has you create when setting up Windows 10.

But if you do "Part 1" then you won't be asked for that any more.

For "Part 2" the Master Password is a new password local to a particular Firefox installation that is separate from your Firefox Account login.

Hi ConnieNorheim, Firefox 76 now requires your Windows login to access the password associated with a Saved Login.

But I don't know about this PIN -- is it a PIN for a Windows Account??

Maybe you will need to temporarily disable the Windows integration to work around that requirement and hopefully then you can set a Master Password. If you have set a Master Password, then Firefox asks for that instead of a Windows login.

Part 1

Here is the temporary setting to turn off the integration with Windows::

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste os-auth and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the signon.management.page.os-auth.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox.

Part 2

You can set a Master Password to secure your locally saved logins. The Windows password isn't used in that case.

IMPORTANT: Do not forget your Master Password or you will no longer be able to access your saved logins.

More info in this article: Use a Primary Password to protect stored logins and passwords.

Does that work for you?

I'm really confused. What is a Windows login?

I went to the section Create A Master Password. However, when I select Use a master password, it's asking me for my current password, and what I have written down as my old Firefox password isn't working
