After installing Firefox version 76, I'm required to sync 2nd device. I just want single account with no syncing for backup - no smart phone / 2nd device.

After installing latest Firefox update to version 76, I'm now required to sync 2nd device before I can proceed. Seems to replace previous 2nd device or mobile phone number. I just want single account with no syncing for backup - I don't use a smart phone or run a 2nd device. It's catch 22 - there's info on deleting a synced 2nd device, but I can't provide details for a 2nd device in the first place.

If you are talking about sync, sync is an option. Shut down sync from here.

Type about:accounts<enter> in the address bar.
