Hi PAT, I'll confess I haven't Googled/Binged that error code, but any kind of login loop is often associated with a problem with either:

  1. A cached redirect
  2. Previously saved cookies are messed up
  3. Cookie restriction

For #1: Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

Then try reloading the page and signing in again. Does that help?

For #2: Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first)

If you can open a page on the site with the problem, maybe the login page:

While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page and signing in again. Does that help?

If you can't get to the site but you know the address:

You can remove an individual site's cookies through the "Manage Data" dialog on the Options/Preferences page. Either:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the left column, click Privacy & Security

Then on the right side, scroll down to the Cookies & Site Data section and click the "Manage Data" button.

Here you can highlight a specific site and select to remove its data, then click Save Changes.

Then try reloading the page and signing in again. Does that help?
