How do I eliminate the calendar from Thunderbird? Constantly creates problems.
I need to eliminate the calendar from Thunderbird, which I do not need. Thunderbird continually locks up, will not restart, requires zapping from Task manager, and then takes ten minutes to get back up. All caused by the calendar. How to eliminate the calendar?
Messages such as: "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: chrome://calendar/content/widgets/calendar-minimonth.js:519"
Script: chrome://calendar/content/calendar-multiday-view.js:54

The short answer is you can not. BTW, for the calendar scrips to be functioning, you have a calendar enabled. Go into the calendar and remove all calendars. You might also want to click on the X to minimize the calendar and tasks that show up on your screen.
Finally create an exemption in your anti virus for Thunderbird profile folder. It is probably scanning the files while that are in use and making things run very slowly. Just be aware the names of the scripts very very rarely has anything to do with the root cause. They are just whatever is not completing in time because of a slowdown. I get them with an anti virus for threepaneview.
Hi, Matt, thanks for your response! With regard thereto:
1. I've never used the calendar or set up any sub-calendars within it. I've never even seen it, except after it started causing problems when I went to look at it.
2. I do not have an AV program other than whatever comes with W10.
3. Before the most recent big Thunderbird update, I associated these problems with Lightning and carefully excluded that at the time. I believe that's no longer possible.
4. I have no add-ons at all on Thunderbird.
