How To Remove URL From Address Bar Autofill
Every time I type in two particular letters in the address bar, a particular website address is immediately autofilled. I don't want this address coming up ever, but I can't figure out how to stop that from happening. Numerous searches about this come up with obsolete solutions.
The latest that I have found in Mozilla support says:
If you want to remove an entry from the autocomplete list:
In the address bar, use the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight the entry. Press Shift+Delete to remove the item from the list.
Unfortunately, this simply does not work at all. So what is the actual way to do this?
I'm Mac OS X Catalina, FF #83.

Also, clearing this URL from all history doesn't work, although in the past, that was the solution.
See if this helps: Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.
Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.
If that entry in the drop-down list has a pin icon attached then this is an item from the Top Sites list as present on the Firefox Home page (about:newtab, about:home). You need to remove it there.

The location bar drop-down list can show history items, bookmarked pages, pages opened in tabs, top sites, and search suggestions. You can set what suggestions show when you enter an URL in the location/address bar bar.
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Address Bar: When using the location bar, suggest:
History
Bookmarks
Open tabs
Top sites - Options/Preferences -> Search -> Search Suggestions
I just did this, all the way to the point of clicking OK.
But I have to admit that I have no idea what this is actually going to do. On top of that, it seems incredibly complicated for something that used to be so simple to resolve, and I am afraid I don't understand how this is supposed to delete only one URL in particular, especially since there's no explanation in this process for spelling out how to remove just that one particular URL.

Thank you. Unfortunately, as is the case with the other suggestion, this doesn't delete from the autofill just the one URL that I don't want coming up.
