Not opening downloaded files
When marking student scripts, I download and open a large number of files in a day. So I want it to be easy. But Firefox does not deliver what it promises. I want to click on the file link on the teaching website and the file to open automatically. But everytime I have to navigate to click in a dialog box in order to open the file. Is there any way to get Firefox to do what is says "Do this automaticall..."?
As far as I can see, these are bog standard .pdf, .docx and .doc files.

The reason this occurs is because the website sends the wrong information about the file. To fix this you can install this extension. Hopefully this helps!

Magic, this has been a minor pain for ages. Thank you for solving it.
Just FYI, inline disposition can cause problems on Google Drive -- mysterious error messages about cookies or something like that. If you notice that, you may need to work around it by disabling the extension temporarily on the Add-ons page.
Thank you for the warning. I rarely use Google drive, so I shall have to remember hard.
Hi
You can see that Firefox offers the "Open with Firefox" choice. This means that the server sends the file as a generic content type like "application/octet-stream" or "content-disposition:attachment" and in that case there is no automatic action possible.
