Clippings add on not working correctly

I am having a problem with clippings extension. Every day this week when I click on the clippings icon, the page doesn't appear. (The web browser flashes - but the clippings page doesn't appear) I have to remove clippings, reinstall clippings and then restore clippings from backup. Clippings works for the rest of the day just fine - even if I close out of the browser. When I come back in the next day - clippings are gone and I have to go through the whole process again.

I've tried reinstalling firefox as well as refresh.

Firefox version: 78.13.0esr

Note: Clippings has worked fine for the past 5+ years.
