I switched to a new laptop. I had trouble migrating my Thunderbird history and emails. I received assistance from a computer tech who completed the migration All works well, except that my signature files suddenly stopped being added to outgoing emails.

Did you migrate all your HTML signature files from old computer to new computer ? The signature HTML files you created are not stored in Thunderbird profile and so would need to be manually moved from where ever they were stored on old computer to the new computer.

Then you would need to check the Account Settings for email address. select 'Attach the signature froma file instead' Click on 'Choose' and reselect the signature HTML file as it might not be stored in the identical directory as previously used on old computer.
