Hello Team,

My query is regarding Youtube HD extension in Firefox Android Browser. The browser supports max quality upto 1080p resolution. The query is I cannot watch Youtube video in 1440p , 4k resolution. What's the problem with the extension.

Similarly I use other browser on my phone i.e. Vivaldi browser. On Vivaldi browser I can watch Youtube videos in 1440p , 4k resolution.

Hello,

Could you please show us where you are getting an error or where you are not given the option for 1440p or 4K video?

I have not been able to reproduce the issue you are referring to in the latest version of Fx Android and with YouTube HD. What video are you having this problem on, is the native video resolution higher than 1080p?

Yes, why not. I'm sharing the attached screenshot of the Firefox Browser and Vivaldi browser. The firefox browser supports max quality up to 1080p resolution. And in Vivaldi browser supports the same video up to 4k resolution i.e. 2160p. For your reference, I'm uploading a screenshot of two browsers with the same video.

Thank you for those screenshots.

On Firefox, have you edited the YouTubeHD default settings?

You can do this by: This will not work if you do not have the YouTube site open

  1. Open YouTube in a new tab in the Fx browser
  2. With YouTube open, click on the 3-dot menu, click on "Add-Ons", and then click on "YouTube High Definition."

This will pull up a bunch of settings controlling default volume, resolution, speed, and more. Within there you can set the Video Quality.

Let me know if this helps, thanks.

Hello Team,

This is not working. I have followed the given process. But it is not working. I have set the video quality to a max 4k 2160p resolution. But in the video that the YouTuber has uploaded the 4k video. Please find the below screenshots for your reference.
