When I click on private browsing the toolbar has a black background. How can I change the background to white such as when I click on new window ?

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page.

  • about:config => browser.theme.dark-private-windows = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. On the warning page, you can click "Accept the Risk and Continue" to open about:config.

This only happens with the default "System theme", changing to the "Light" theme will avoid it.
