Renaming email folder seems to make it disappear from list
After migrating my Windows Live Mail (WLM) 2012 email folders to Thunderbird, I saw that the folder names were truncated and not the same long name I had the folder named in WLM. I have been editing the folder names by copying the WLM folder name to my clipboard and then renaming that truncated folder name in Thunderbird by renaming the folder use the CTRL-V (paste from clipboard).
Prior to today after having done the above, the renamed folder in Thunderbird was moved according to its new alphabetical name in the listing, but usually in the same vicinity of folders that I was renaming. Now, the newly renamed folder seems to disappear from the listing. I scrolled through all of the folders from a to z but couldn't find it. Out of desperation, I closed Thunderbird and then reopend it to see if that would refresh my list of folders with those folders I had just renamed. And, sure enough all of those renamed folders are visible and in the correct alphatical place on the list.
Any guidance or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Would you explain what problem it is that you're trying to resolve? You seem to have sorted out your own problem.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I can "fix" the issue, but it just seeme tedious to have to close and reopen Thunderbird if I wanted to check on the updates to the folder names I had just done. I did find a posting showing me how to subscribe to the folders. That seemed to fix all of the issues.
I must say that I like Thunderbird but it also scares me because I often don't know what the unintended consequences will be for any "fix" I do for a seemingly unnected issue. Recall that I said I had been doing the renaming of my folders just fine for a few weeks until I then wanted to link my Outlook calendar to the Thunderbird calendar. That is when this above described issue began.
Anyway it seems all fixed now, but I don't really understand why. I am just glad that it is.
