Firefox history only works sometimes
I have a computer running Firefox 3.6.3 on Vista Business. A custom theme has been installed. When the theme is showing the history from the previous sessions will be available. If Firefox is shutdown and then restarted invariably the custom theme does not show and the history is unavailable. Does not matter how many times I restart Firefox the history (and custom theme) still does not show.
If the machine is rebooted the custom theme will show and the history is available. Shutting down Firefox the pattern repeats.
I have tried reinstalling Firefox numerous times, creating new profiles manually, deleting all profiles, nothing makes any difference. The only thing I know is that the theme and the history working seem to be linked together.

Sounds that some files in the Firefox profile folder get locked. If Firefox is closed properly (no hanging processes in the Task Manager) then a possible cause is security (anti-virus) software.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Tried shutting down "Zone Alarm Extreme Security" completely. Started up Firefox, no history, navigated some other sites, shutdown Firefox. Restarted Firefox (Firewall, A/V still off), no history.
Even when in the same session, back button works but no history shows. Profile files locked sounds like a good guess but it's not ZoneAlarm that's locking them, any other suggestions?
By the way this seems to happen only for 1 user account, other user account seems to be fine but I will test that more thoroughly.
After the last reboot, persona (theme) and history did not work even the first time.
Something is very screwed up for this user account!
