I cannot open Firefox even after uninstalling (including profile) and download & reinstalling. I get the "FF already running" msg.

I opened FF and got msg that updates were loading. FF immediately crashed. I used the online suggested Mozilla and other forum fixes (using IE7 to search moz site). Nothing worked. I ended up deleting the profile files and Mozilla itself. I then downloaded and installed the current US version. When I try to open, I get the message that FF Is running but not responding...close existing process or restart. I used task to close firefox.exe, but still get the msg. I restart (winXP) and still get msg when trying to open FF.

Help!!
