How do I get permission to access some items it states I need in order to complete the download

I am trying to download version 3.6.12 and it repeatedly says " The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items." What items would this be and how do I access them?

Your More system details list shows that you already have Firefox 3.6.12.

What are you trying to achieve?

If you have problems with reinstalling Firefox then trash the current version and install a freshly donloaded copy of Firefox 3.6.12
