i had an old pc running xp which has just died. i used internet explorer on it, not mozilla. i have all the files from this old machine backed up on a removable drive. i have now bought a new machine running win 7 home premium and want to import my old IE bookmarks into mozilla firefox. i have tried copying the old IE favurites folder into documents on the new machine but that did not work. is this possible to do? thanks

You may have to use IE to import that Favorites folder from that drive and export them in IE to an HTML file.
Then you can import that HTML file in Firefox.

  • Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML : "From File"
