'Search for text when I start typing' is selected but the search is not being activated when I start typing

The feature of automatically opening the search text field is not working eventhough the 'Search for text when I start typing' is checked in the Options->Advanced->General tab.

You can try disabling that option and close settings. Then go back and re-enable it. That worked for me.
