The open new tab (+) button just disappeared when I closed a tab, no way to open new tabs
I had gone to a web site for chinese literature. When I closed the tab, my new tab button with the plus sign at the right of open tabs was gone.

Do you still see the tab bar?
Tools (Firefox) > Options > Tabs: [X] "Always show the tab bar"
It is and was checked. This was not the problem. Thanx for the try.
